Ashura the Hedgehog

HUZZAH!! Ashura the hedgehog everybody! Or should I say Glitch-hog? For those of you who dont already know, Ashura is a green-n-black Sonic look-alike and has blue eyes instead of green. Ashura the Hedgehog is a glitch character that appears after performing a cheat with debug mode in Sonic 2. In the actual game, Ashura is just Sonic with green fur and a black blotch on his for head. Sonic fans had a fan-gasm. They thought that he was pretty cool (can you blame them?) and took it upon themselves to seperate and name this "new character" Ashura (cool name, dotn u think?). Ashura, though not an "real" character in the sonic universe, has gotten so popular among then fans (especially fellow spriters, gamers, and comickers such as myself) that since then, he has gone through many different character design changes and even fan games and mock game covers in his name (Seriously! He's even a google suggestion)! In fact, I myself have, for some reason, have gone through an Ashura-Crazy mood and am making a fan game and a sprite comic featuring him and other characters! Ashura even has a very popular Sonic-mod for a PC version of Unreal Tournament called Ashura: Dark Reign (Google it)!

There is also another character glitch that happens with knuckles! His fur turns silver, his skin turns black, and he has a red "gem" embedded in his forehead. Fans named him Wechnia. He appears in the game Knuckles' Chaotix. He's definatly not as notable as Ashura but still has a special spot in fan's hearts.

All the remoddelling of Ashura have been made by the spriter Cylent Nite (a.k.a. CN). I made this pic as a tribute to both Ashura and CN. It's based off his newest design for Ashura. I feel it's the best. CN has also done the sprite sheet of Wechnia. CN, if by some miracle you're here reading this, thank you!

Oh yeah! B4 I forget! Sega must have been paying attention to Ashura. I read all of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comics and waaay back in the comic's 150+ issue (I think), they had the character, Evil Sonic, gain his own identity and after being interupted during his transformation to Super Evil Sonic, he becomes Scourge! Scourge has a stricking resemblance to Ashura (Scourge is also green and he wears a black flame jacket with a scar on his belly) Google it. (I smell conspiracy)
